Karkala; Feb 14: There is no specified project to Coastal region in this time’s budget. BJP announced projects in the past like, no fund was earmarked for Suvarna village, Namma Grama, Namma Rasthe yojane. In view of promoting, encouraging tourism in the region, more grant-in-aid was expected but it is sad to note that nothing sort of grant was given and has brought despondency. This was told by V.Sunil Kumar, legislator and main opposition leader in the assembly in the press release.

The historically famous across the country Karkala Bahubali’s Mahamasthakaabhisheka is being celebrated once in 12 years. Accordingly next year, the Mahamasthaakabhisheka will be held. Milling crowd of People from within the country and abroad will arrive on the occasion.

In this context, in order to give encouragement to tourism sector and to provide basic infrastructure like road-water etc, many a times memorandum was submitted to grant special package. Ever since Congress led came to power, government’s attention was being drawn in this regard. Accordingly this time also announcement of special package was expected. But was very much disappointed as there was no mention about the grant in the budget, he said.
