Karkala; Feb 06: An incident of computer break down was reported in Karkala taluk’s sub-registrar office on Feb 06, Thursday.
It was said that due to computer break down in Karkala sub-registrar office, people had to wait long hours and when they did not get appropriate answer for the problem, people expressed their anguish.
Every day in order to preserve registered documents, computer used to take several hours to take back-up files automatically on every Tuesday. But according to the office staff on each Tuesday evening back-up files used to take. But due to technical faults (Server down), this process was being done from main office. When this process was in progress, no other work could be carried out.In the wake of this process, this problem was raised, they said.
But due to stroppy staff,in the wake of compulsory registration of lands for the construction of Rajeev Gandhi’s accommodation programme houses women, who came along with their small children had to wait long hours.
In order to preserve office documents during office hours, public expressed their dissatisfaction for wasting their precious time. Thereafter tahsildar Babu Devadiga immediately rushed to the office and said that it is the responsibility of the government employees to provide better service to the public and he suggested Vimala, registration officer that about some minor problems, government employees should not mis-behave,behave badly with public
But due to rough talk of the employees working on contract basis in the office, people got enraged and in this case authority had to entangle in dilemma.
