Udupi; Jan 29: The Act, which hurts the sentiments of devotees is not required said Janardhan Poojary, former union minister and eminent congress leader.

While talking in Udupi about the state government’s proposed implementation of Hindu religious endowment act, Poojary said that Hidnu religious endowment act is not needed. State government should not do the work of hurting the feelings of millions of devotees and government should not interfere in the activities of Maths (monasteries).Even Congress high command will not agree for this, he said.

He further said that Chief Minister Siddaramaih should call Muzarai department’s minister Prakash Hukkeri and ask him to drop the idea of implementation of Hindu religious endowment act after discussing with him, he added.

If I don’t get the ticket, my personality will not get spoiled

While speaking about the ensuing Loka Sabha election in Dakshina Kannada district, Poojary said that I did not apply to AICC asking ticket for me. In case, I don’t get ticket, my individuality will not get spoiled. But before allotting tickets to Loka Sabha election, let them take the opinion of leaders and activists, he said.
