Karkala; Jan 23: Karkala legislator Sunil Kumar has appealed to state government to reserve grant-in-aid in state budget, presenting in the month of February, 2014 for the Bahubali Swami’s Mahaamasthakaabhisheka, which will be held in 2015.

As theists (believer in God) in large numbers from within the country and overseas countries are expected to participate in this Mahamasthakaabhisheka, it is necessary to apply tar on the roads of Karkala City and rural regions roads.

He also informed that as a legislator of this constituency, I have already appealed to chief minister to release grants in the past, this time once again in the coming Vidhana Sabha cabinet session, will be pressurized he said.

In the backdrop of Masthakaabhisheka in Karkala permanent works like infrastructure, roads, water and tourism should be given priority. In this regard state government should pass an order to district commissioner to prepare comprehensive report, he said.

Grant-in-aid should be released this year only for all the works related to Masthaabhisheka.

Since the Loka sabha election will be announced in the month of March, during election code of conduct period, works cannot be undertaken. After the election is over, monsoon will start and therefore works can be started only after October. Keeping all these problems in mind, by releasing the grant-in-aid at the earliest possible, undertaking of the works at the earliest possible is inevitable, said legislator Sunil Kumar.
