Kundapur;Jan 04: Participating in the ‘Janandolana Padayatre’ organized by Udupi district BJP from Hejamady to Byndoor,Nalini Kumar Kateel,MP from Mangalore constituency said in his address in Kota that both State and central government has neglected the welfare of farmers. When the election time is approaching, they are employing the trick of wiping the tears of farmers and then they are destructing them.Anti-farmers policy like ban on areca nut is being adopted. But one of the ministers says, if the ban is imposed, then he will resign from the government. On the other hand, it is being told it has not banned.
But in Supreme Court case will be registered on Jan 06.Then, if, it is banned, what is the benefit? Now only resign, taunted. Out of the 1300 pages report, which was submitted to Supreme Court, contents in 700 pages, contains about banning the areca nut. In case, it is banned, what is the fate of the areca nut crop farmers? First time in the history of state government, situation has been created to commit suicide by one of the farmers in front of the Vidhana Soudha. Now,you tell us, government is in who’s favour? When BJP was in power, when the rotten disease of areca nut affected the farmers, government has waived the loan of Rs 25,000.What this congress government did for the farmers?Instead, the government which says that in areca nut contains poisonous substance but areca nut is not poisonous,UPA government led by congress is poisonous. Areca nut is an emblem, replica of our tradition. In auspicious occasions and in other religious programmes areca nut is being widely used. This is the century old practice in Hindu culture. The congress led government, which gives such bad statements about the areca nut, will not survive long, he warned Siddaramaih.
Though cow slaughtering prohibition act was first implemented by BJP led government, with the involvement of State and central government, cow slaughtering prohibition action has been withdrawn. Dairy products being the breathe of the farmers, the cows and cattles are being fostered by the farmers. In that matter also, through laws, the government has created a deceptive game plan to stab on the back of the farmers from behind. Government has looted the nation in the name of terrorism. Another name for terrorism is Congress. When Vajpayee led BJP government was in power, in order to apply bridle for terrorisn, a stringent law was being implemented. But Congress led UPA government by loosening it, has given support and encouragement. Today net work of terrorism has spread from Kashmir to Kota, expressed his anger.
Former minister Kota Shreenivasa Poojary, while delivering an introductory speech said that confusion of state and central government has reached to such an extent that China by entering the border of India, encroached 19 km of the area and thrashed Indian bunkers. But UPA government is not in a position to give befitting warning to China.
On the other hand Pakistan troops, by entering Indian border beheaded the heads of Indian armies. Still our prime minister maintained his silence. After watching this situation, Pakistan prime minister Nawab Sherrief said like this-Prime minister of India Manmohan Singh does not look like a prime minister of the nation, instead he looks like a weeping dangerous woman. For all these, Manmohan Singh only responsible. The government, which cannot give befitting reply, is encouraging, supporting terrorism. Today UPA government is riding on farmers. That is through ban on areca nut and withdrawal of cow slaughtering prohibition act. With this, government is supporting cow thieves. Similar with areca nut case. State and central government has forgotten that farmers are the backbone of the nation.
