Udupi: Inauguration of taluk convention of agricultural labour; Govt’s attitude is Pro- wealthy people-Nityananda Swami

Udupi;Dec 29 : After inaugurating the taluk convention organized by Karnataka state agricultural labor’s Sangha Udupi taluk Samiti on Dec 28,Saturday in Bannanje Narayana Guru Sabha Bhavan’s Shivgiri auditorium, Nityananda Swami,president,Karnataka State agricultural labor’s association said in his speech that all governments ,apart from following the attitude of favoring capitalists and wealthy people, no government has shown any concern about the poors.Therefore all the problems of poor’s are lying  idle as it is, without any solutions, he said.

He further said that due to this attitude of government, all the demands of rich, wealthy people are being get done without any struggle or hassle by itself. Therefore government has to change its attitude, he added.

He also said that government is forcibly selling eligible agricultural lands of the farmers to foreign investing companies at cheaper rate but not bothered to give houses to homeless people, he taunted.

Continuing his speech he said that there are many lapses in employment guarantee programme and alleged that in some places whole programme is being mis-used.

Under this programme at present only 100 days of employment is given in a year and by bringing changes in this programme,employment should be given as many as days as the people want. Ration cards to be distributed without any difference of APL and BPL status.Similarily 35 kgs of rice to be distributed to everybody irrespective of their status, he urged.

Vittala Poojary, President of taluk samiti has presided over the function. Chief guests like CITU district president K.Shankar, Udupi region’s LIC employees association’s general secretary U.Gurudatt, CPM Udupi taluk secretary Vishwanatha Rai, Sujatha from Akshara Dasoha association, taluk secretary Dogu Suvarna were present.

Taluk samiti treasurer Laxman welcomed the guests, Venkatesh Koni compered the programme.
