Kundapur; Dec 29: Participating in the “Devadiga Vaibhava-2013” programme, presented by Byndoor.com and organized under the auspices of Blue star cricket club and Byndoor Devadiga Sangha on Dec 28, Saturday in Byndoor J.N.R.Kala Mandir, B.Y.Raghavendra, MP said in his address that Devadiga community is very closest to trust and confidence of the society and by worshipping the God in closest proximity and has become very dearer to God.
Besides he also assured that in the event of arranging site for the construction of Devadiga Sabha Bhavan, grant will be extended from state government and from his MPs fund.
Inaugurating the programme, B.S.Sherigar, retired chancellor of Kuvempu University said in his address that youths are very life and breathe of the society and creating awareness about the society and culture in children and youths is very much needed. The youths, only when work unitedly, progress and prosperity of the society is possible, he said.

PGR Scindia, former home minister said in his speech that organizations, without wasting their time merely on glorifying the cultural activities also should work for the development of the society.Dr.Ambedkar in order to bring backward class people into main stream of the society made a reservation in the constitution.
But it is a tragedy that still it is not implemented completely even after 60 years of Independence. Out of 65 % of backward classes in the country, only 7 % of the reservation has been obtained. But only in Tamilnadu 69% reservation is being availed and in this context, in order to increase the quantity of reservation in all the states, amendment has to be done in the constitution, he said.
Presiding over the programme, B.G.Mohandas, former president of Dubai Karnataka Sangha said in his speech that though Devadiga community is a backward community, now through the dominance of the society, it is being coming up. But, in political field, community has to march ahead. All the ‘Devadiga Sanghas by working together, have to bring the focus of political parties, he added.
