Kundapur; Dec 29: Addressing the press reporters in the press meet held on Dec 29, Sunday in Byndoor railway station, B.Y.Raghavendra, Shimoga MP said in his address that Yediyurappa is likely to be back with BJP, which is almost certain after coming Sankrati. In order to face ensuing Loka Sabha election, B.S.Yediyurappa has to contribute many things to the party. Other parties are taking advantage of the resentment of BJP and Yediyurappa and this mistake will not be repeated again, he said.
He said that Kollur is the holy place, where thousands of devotees are visiting in a day through railway route. Grant was released by B.S.Yediyurappa, when BJP was in power and from that grants Rs 2.60 crore works has already been completed and remaining grant should be released immediately by the present government. From the point of development of railways, if Ullal-Thokur-Konkan railway is started, revenue will be increased.
By saying that areca nut crop is harmful, UPA government is trying to write death testament on areca nut farmers. It is a tragedy that due to authorities own error, they have submitted the report stating areca nut crop is destructive.
Traditionally also, according to Hindu custom, areca nut is being given along with betel leaves. In Udupi district alone, areca nut crop is being cultivated in around one and half lakh acres of land. The ministers from this region should put pressure on union government and the report, which claims that areca nut is harmful, should be withdrawn back.
In order to create more interest about the villages among the youth who are migrating to urban cities from villages, Mahatma Gandhi national employment programme individually being given from union government’s grants,SC/ST,forest dwellers and poors by availing the facilities of this programme. Chicken, sheep poultry,silk,toilet construction etc are source of hopes for the poors.From minimum of Rs 35 thousand to maximum of Rs one and half lakh can be given per family from this programme.The concerned authorities have been instructed to encourage these programmes to make this programme a grand success, he said.
He also said that as a member of parliament (MP) he has tried to provide thousands of crores grant-in-aid for Byndoor constituency besides being worked as a link between BJP government and Byndoor regions development works, he added
