Inauguration of National Conference at NMAMIT

Mangalore, Nitte April13 : Nitte Mahalinga Adyanthaya Memorial Institute of Technology (NMAMIT) has organized TEQIP Funded a two day  National Conference on Advances in Electrical Engineering (Theme: Renewable Energy – Drive Towards Generation and Control) on April 12-13. Mr. D. T. Barki, Chairman and MD, Noble Energy Solar Technologies Ltd, recipient of Green Oscar Award (Ashden Light Award 2005) inaugurated the function on April 12 morning.

In his inaugural address, he stressed the need for renewable energy. Sri. N. Vinaya Hegde, Chancellor, NitteUniversity and President, Nitte Education Trust, Mangalore presided over the function. In his presidential address, he stressed about the evolution of energy generation, various kinds of power generation, advantages of renewable energy and present day power crises. He set the expectation for the future engineers to work towards solving the power crises and improve the efficiency by reducing the transmission loss.

 The college principal Dr. Niranjan N Chiplunkar welcomed the gathering and wished programme a success. The Head of the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Prof K Vasudeva Shettigar highlighted the importance of the programme.

The conference was attended by many senior faculty and students of various engineering colleges all over the state including neighboring states.
