Karkala; Dec 21: Inaugurating the Ajekar hobali level “Janaspandana meet” and distribution of various government amenities programme held in Muniyalu Padmavati Kala Mandir, legislator V.Sunil Kumar said in his address that in order to become Janaspandana meetings more meaningful in finding a solution to the village level problems at the place only, problems should be taken into consideration seriously by the authorities and try to find out a solution by taking sincere efforts.
While speaking Mudrady village panchayat member Santhosh Kumar said that with the already giving grant-in-aid of government’s committed Rs 8 lac, the complete development is not possible. Government must give an annual compensation of minimum Rs 25 lacs and requested the legislator to bring this matter to the notice of the government immediately.
Condemning the failure of MESCOM department, Dinesh Pai said in his address that there will always be a interruption at night in the power supply coming from Hebri to Muniyalu.Even if complaint is given in this regard to mescom departmental authorities, it was of no use.Mescom’s branch authorities instead of responding to the problems of people, they are switching off their mobiles. Replying to this, Pratapchandra, AEE, MESCOM said that presently in Hebri 5 M.A capacity transformer will only function. When power is supplied to 4 feeders from this transformer, definitely there will a problem of reduced supply of power.
He further said that in view of solving this problem, within 6 months, by using 5 A.M capacity additional transformer and additional 4 feeders, this problem of power supply will be solved, he said.
Legislator said that about power supply problem, we are planning of convene a meeting at Muniyalu comprising of Mescom MD and all officials of district level to discuss about the power problem.
When Sundar Shetty discussed about the problem of metre reading in the meeting, on the basis of government contract, contract has been given to the contractor at the rate of Rs 5 per each metre,contractors are giving only Rs 1 for each metre reading, will only be the problem, he said.
A private person from Vaaranga village, Hittalagundi said that because of Vaaranga Jain Mutt’s road encroachment, public have to face lot of problems and in this regard immediate steps should be taken urged Ajekar Prakash Shetty.
Due to the disease of wither, across the district around 1200 hectares of paddy crop, more than 50% is destroyed. In Karkala taluk, around 250 hectares of paddy crop has been damaged. A comprehensive report of the loss has been submitted to state agriculture commissioner and district commissioner. Also requested to give an appropriate compensation for the loss of the crop, informed deputy director Hanumantha.L of agricultural department in the meeting.
Manjunatha Poojary, member of district panchayat said that for the success of Janaspandana meet, people also should participate in the meeting along with representatives and authorities.
On the occasion taluk panchayat members like Sujit Kumar Shetty,Pramila Harish,Varanga village panchayat president Jyothi Harish,Mudrady village Panchayat vice president Gunavathi Shetty,taluk panchayat’s working committee executive Chennappa Moily were present.
