Necessary to upgrade Wenlock Government Hospital: Sudatta Jain

Mangalore, Dec 20: Akhila Bharata Karmika Sangha district chief secretary Sudutta Jain said that the newly elected representatives of Dakshina Kannada are busy with their issue and are neglecting to serve their respective fields.

Addressing the media at the press meet held at Press Club today, Jain said that Wenlock Government Hospital has a history of serving the lower class people from beedi workers, building workers and others from past 165 years. But none of the ministers have taken any initiative to develop it.

So far many organizations have staged protest demanding to develop the hospital, which is only the source of hope for the patients belonging to lower class. But each time the memorandum stating to fulfill the demands is handed over to the top officials, they are being transferred. Making every efforts of labourers go in vain.

Jain also urged the officials to fulfill their demands such as to exempt APL and BPL classifications from Wenlock Hospital, making all facilities and medicines available in the hospital, providing Health security to lower class laborers and upgrade the hospital with better facilities.

The union also warned the representatives to stage a protest in the hospital premises on January 3, if they fail to respond to their demands.

District secretary of the union Dinesh JP, city convener Gladwin, district organizer Jagdish Maroli and district spokesperson Harish Kumar Shetty were also present at the press meet.
