The two-day programme ‘Jana Nudi’ organized by Abhimatha concludes

Mangalore, Dec 15: The valedictory ceremony of the two-day ‘Jana Nudi’ organized by Abhimatha was held at Kalaangann, Shaktinagar here on Sunday, December 15 in the Kalaangann in Shaktinagara.

Dinesh Amin Mattu, media advisor for Karataka chief minister was the main speaker. Sanath Kumar Belagali, Mavalli Shankar and Dr Vasundhara Bhupati were the chief guests.

In his address, Dinesh Amin Mattu media advisor for Karataka chief minister said, “Looking at the recent developments in our society, we feel that the cycle of history is turning in the reverse direction. We should go forward, but unfortunately we have been moving backwards day by day.

From the beginning of the olden days woman’s are respected, but now it has changed. And also religious harmony was disappeared. Reservation is another aspect that has played a key role in our society. Not just now, but right from the time of Devraj Urs, reservation has created space for the backward and the minority communities he said.

He further said that the proposed Anti-Superstition Act has all together 14 points in it, but the Act will never affect any religious thinking or practices. But a few sections of the society have been fighting against this Bill and spreading fake news about it.

In her presidential address, K Neela state president of Janavadi Mahila Sanghatane said many people are confused if this ‘Jana Nudi’ was organized against ‘Nudisiri’, and no doubt it is true. “Many literatteurs who have once fought for women’s rights, Dalit rights and minority rights have now been taking part in Nudisiri, but there is a need for those people to turn back and analyze if what they have been doing was right or wrong,” she said.

Writers and literatteurs from various parts of the state were present.
