Mangalore, Dec. 9: “Sonia Gandhi is a model for other politicians. She became a real sacrificer by handed over the prestigious post of Prime Minister to others” said former union minister Janardhan Poojary.
He was speaking during the birth day celebration of Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, organised at Infant Mary’s Prashanth Nivas Ashram, Jeppu on Monday, December 9.
When the UPA government came into power in India the people wanted Sonia Gandhi to become the Indian Prime Minister. But she handed over the post to Manmohan Singh he said.
Sister Silvia Fernandes, chief of the Ashram submitted a memorandum to help the renovation work of the Ashram.
Reacting to the memorandum, Poojary said, “If I get ticket in Lok Sabha Assembly elections and if I win, I will definitely sanction Rs 15 lac from the Lok Sabha members’ fund,” he assured.
State health minister U.T. Khader, J.R. Lobo, MLA, Vijay Kumar Shetty, former MLA, Congress leaders Hari Krishna Bantwal, A.C. Bhandari, Kallige Taranatha Shetty, Arun Kuvello, T.K.
