Udupi: Yoga for Guinness book of records; Yoga asana by 45,000 students

Udupi; Dec 09: In an effort to register in Guinness book of records  programme, one lac students will participate in Yoga asana exhibition, which will be held on Dec 11 in undivided Dakshina Kannada district. Around 45,000 students from 39 centres in Udupi participate in the exhibition.

While addressing the press reporters in press meet held in press club, Udupi, Vinaya Kumar Sorake, minister for urban development and district in charge said in his address that 3620 students from three centers in Byndoor region, 12350 students from 14 centers in Kundapur zone, 6400 students from 6 centers in Brahmavar zone, 10,250 students from 8 centers in Udupi region, 1497 students from 8 centres in Karkala region will take part in the exhibition.

Prominent programme of the Udupi district will start from 10.00 am to 10.30 am in Kunjibettu MGM college stadium. In this around 3500 students will perform yoga asanas.

Dr.Veerendra Heggade, minister Vinaya Kumar Sorake, district panchayat president Upendra Nayak, legislator Pramodh Madhwaraj, CMC president Yuvaraj will participate in this programme, it said

In each centre one guide for 50 students and two resoluteness executives have been appointed. In each centre one student will guide the students by exhibiting Yoga asanas as medical student. For Guinness book of records, in each centre, time will be recorded through video camera picturization.Students numbers will be decided by giving ribbon bands.

In the press meet movie director master Kishan, co-ordinator Shylaja Shreekanth, Udupi public education department’s assistant director Vasantha Shetty, Seethanadhi Vittala Shetty, Shashikanth Jain, Dugge Gowda and Chandrashekar were present.
