Mangalore, Dec.2: Demanding to release Abdul Naseer Madani, chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who has been lodged in Parappana Agrahara from three and half years, the member of PDP staged a protest in front of Deputy Commissioner’s office on Monday, December 2.
Human rights activist V.T. Rajashekar said that “Muslims are always considered as terrorists in the country and this is the main reason to arrest Madani. Madani has been arrested in connection with 2008 Bangalore serial blasts. But he is a leader who has always strived for the betterment of people he added.
He further said that Madani is such helpful person that there is no chance to his involvement in the blast. He is a person who loves all religion. He has been subjected to mental and physical torture. He should be released soon,” he urged.
Leader of JD (S).Devi Prasad Shetty, said that “Madani is being portrayed as a terrorist. We are conveying a wrong message by arresting people who follow secular ideals. High level investigation should be conducted and bail should be give to Madani.
Vishwa Badranand Shakti Bhodi Swamiji, Swami Varkala Raja, vice president of PDP, Sabu Kottaraka, Nisar Mohammad, M.K.Abbas, district president, Yunus, secretary were present among others.
