Mangalore, Nov 23: Audi India, the German luxury car manufacturers have opened their first showroom in Mangalore at MAK Mall, Kankanady, on Friday Nov. 22.
It is its 30th showroom in India and second in Karnataka. The company plans on escalating their presence in the country from the existent 30 centres to 34 before the end of 2013.
Speaking on the occasion, Neeraj Srivastav, Sales Head said that the Audi model range in India will be available at Audi Mangalore. The showroom is spread over a total area of 5500 Sq ft with the signature Audi Honeycomb aluminium facade on the exterior and a display area that can accommodate 8 cars.
The Audi Mangalore is also a place for an Audi Shop where customers can purchase a variety of Audi branded merchandise and spare parts, he said adding that with the opening of its new showroom in Mangalore, Audi India is able to strengthen the foothold in this region and consolidate leadership position in the country.
The company reportedly sold 130 cars in Mangalore and its surrounding areas last year alone and it looks forward to selling another 130, if not more, in the coming year, said K Subramanian, CEO of Audi Mangalore and Audi Bangalore.
Briefing about service facility at Mangalore, the CEO said Audi Mangalore has authorised Audi service centre located on Kulur Junction, Mangalore. Service centre has an area of 13,200sq ft. Service centre has the capacity to service 12 cars per day in a single shift and will work for 6 days in a week. The technicians are trained by company to deliver the world class service, he said.
The showroom that they recently opened is expected to answer to the buyer demands in the areas of Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Belgaum, Dharwad, Hassan, Chikmagalur and Kodagu, said Ravindra Pai, general manager (operations) for Audi Mangalore.
