Udupi; Nov 19: Vinaya Kumar Sorake, minister for urban development and district in charge by visiting Belle village’s panchayat in Udupi taluk, distributed governments various facilities like BPL ration card, compensation to farmers affected by rotten areca nut disease and widow’s monthly pension.
He said that government is working for the welfare of the poor and process of converting APL into BPL ration card after identifying eligible applicants is already started. The problem of 9/11 has already been resolved. The authorities have been directed to take an emergency steps to allot houses to homeless people.
He has published the welfare programmes through government’s various projects in Belle village’s panchayat’s limit.
Village panchayat president Rajendra Shetty has presided over the programme.
Zilla panchayat member Aidagibba D’Souza,taluk panchayat member Devadasa Honnara,taluk panchayat executive officer Manjunathayya,udupi tahsildar Guruprasad,revenue inspectors, village accountants, departmental heads of various departments,panchayat vice president Jacinta D’Souza,panchayat members,P.D.O Ananda were present.
