Udupi; Nov 14: While speaking Dr Hande said in his speech that tax exemption should be given to solar energy. Besides not only Bangalore, make entire state kerosene free state. He also said that it would be beneficial, if rural region be made kerosene free region first. He said that he has already requested chief minister in this regard, he said.
He also said that earlier also we made appeal to government. Citing an example of other states, where tax has already been exempted. Benefits of using solar energy have also been explained.
By removing vat tax, this should be treated as tax free instrument. Due to this poor people will be benefitted to great extent. There is a tax exemption for IT arrangement, which is being used by rich people. But solar energy, being used mostly by poor people is not exempted from tax, which is deplorable.
Already Karnataka is evincing enough interest in solar energy consumption and if it is being considered seriously, state will become role model for others and will be recognized as solution for fire wood field, he said.
