Mangalore, Nov. 11: Sunday, Nov 10 was a memorable day for the city of Managlore and for the visually challenged children of Roman and Catherine school, Mangalore. Participants from various cities like Mangalore, Bangalore and Chickmagalur took part in “BMW – Navnit Motors Guiding Stars 2013”, the annual Round Table Treasure Hunt, which was flagged off by Mr. UT Khader, Honorable Minister for Health and Family Welfare. They were faced with a challenge of navigating solely with the guidance of visually challenged children. So how is this possible?

The children of Roman and Catherine school sat alongside these enthusiastic car drivers trying to decode a set of clues given to them. The uniqueness of the treasure hunt is that only the visually challenged navigator can read these clues that are provided in Braille. In the process, the children picked 3 treasures and made new friends, all the while enjoying the breeze on the drive.

This was the fourth consecutive year that round table is conducting this event successfully. With over 120 participants, this was the highest participation from the public as compared to previous years. The event flag off was done along with corporator of Kannur, Mr. Sudhir Shetty.
