Sowjanya Rape and Murder Case: Urging CBI Probe into the Case Dr Heggade writes to CM

Beltangady, Nov 4: Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade has written a letter to chief minister Siddaramaiah urging hand over the Sowjanya rape and murder case to CBI.

Writing to CM Siddaramaiah in this regard and later releasing the letter to the media on Diwali, Dr Heggade said that the people are not satisfied with the report submitted by the CID to the government in Saujanya murder case and hence handing over the case to CBI becomes inevitable.

Copies of the letter have also been sent to the home minister and to Beltangady MLA Vasanth Bangera.

Sowjanya was found raped and murdered near Dharmasthala in October 2012. The people, organizations, political parties are staged protest urging for the justice of Sowjanya. Also Beltangady has seen a string of massive public meets and protests. The parents of Sowjanya have personally placed the demand of CBI probe into the case in every protest took place in Karnataka.

The Saujanya murder case was get more power after Hindu leader Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi made direct attack against Dr Heggade and family. But, the CID in its report held Santosh Rao, who was arrested soon after the murder in October 2012, as the accused while giving clean chit to four others, including Nischal. But the people still not satisfied with the report. So Dr Heggade written letter to chief minister.
