Belthangady, Nov.2: Hundreds of activists of the Jilla Mahila Sabha, CPI(M) and DYFI staged black flag demonstration at Belthangady on November 1 demanding a CBI probe into the Sowjanya rape and murder case.
The protestors said only an impartial investigation by the CBI can deliver justice in the case.
N Prabha who addressed the protestors said the CID report was not acceptable and urged the government to immediately hand over the case to CBI.
There also ensued a quarrel between the protestors and the police. The protestors were later arrested.
