Karkala; Oct 16: Addressing the media K.Gunapala Kadamba, convener of district Kambala academy said in his speech that academy is contemplating to implement the FTDPD technology in Kambala in order to get accurate results of the Kambala and evade the confusion amongst buffalo owners.
He further said that an experiment was held in this connection and proved to be successful. The introduction of this innovative technology not only gives an accurate result but also help the Kambala organizer to close the event on time.

The machine will help to keep track of the Kambala time and will also store the records of the Kambala run. Besides giving equal justice to everyone, spectators who come to watch the Kambala are able to watch the result live through this technology. The technology will be implemented in few Kambala’s with five line cable cameras in the current year itself, he said. |

With this technology, video cameras will be installed along with the cables at the Kambala at a height of 10 metres. The cameras will move along the cables with the speed of the Buffaloes and, the video visual of the same will be displayed live on the LCD screens.
“We will also show a visual introduction of the buffaloes along with their owners. All the video displays can be shown in the form of HD,” he added.
Academy will conduct a training camp for Kambala runners from October 17th to October 26th.The Kambala race will be organized on November 10 to the workshop participants and the technology will be used for the first time as to evaluate the authenticity of the technology before implementing it in large scale.
The same system will be continued in current year for the Kamabala’s taking place at Miyyar, Nandikur, Moodbidri, Puttur, Vamanjoor and others, stated professor Kadamba.
