Mangalore, Oct 14: Karnataka Muslim Jamaat Council has urged the Inspector General of Police Western Range and SP of Dakshina Kannada district to provide security to the Muslim community to celebrate Eid festival without fear.
Council working President P M Ibrahim Musliar Bekal who is the Qazi of Udupi and Chikmagalur, in a memorandum to I G Prathap Reddy and SP Shanthanu Sinha has said that during the festival the customary slaughtering of animals has to be held.
The top police officials accepted the memorandum, responded positively and promised necessary steps to fulfil the demands.
Council General Secretary Abusufian Madani, Secretaries B M Mumtaz Ali, M S M Zaini Kamil among others were present.
