Sources said that the disputed land was donated to school by Chardappayya Bhat and Vamana Kamat and subsequently the land was transferred under taluk board and then went under district parishath jurisdiction according to Prakashchandra Shetty, vice president of school welfare committee.

Responding to the statement made by Shetty, Smt.Revathi, president of Kergalu village panchayat said in her statement that this disputed land is coming under Dakshina Kannada parishat limit, the request has already been made to the concerned authorities to transfer the land to village panchayat.
