To Fulfill Various Demands, Village Assistants Protests

Mangalore, Oct.7: Urging the Govt. to fulfill various demands, the village assistants of revenue department staged a protest in front of the DC office on Monday Oct.7th.

Speaking on the occasion, the District President of the revenue department village assistants union Prakash K said that the Govt. is least bothered about the conditions of the village assistants who are the back bone of the rural administration.

They are positioned to various duties including the election duties. Hence the village assistant’s pay scales as to be similar to payment given to the Anganavadi workers. We are getting Rs. 7000 per monthly. This is not enough to maintain the family and for medical check up.

District vice-president’s Umesh Puttur, Guankar Hegde, Raghav Gowda Bantwal, Sanjeev Nayk Puttur, M. Krishnappa Poojary and others were present at the occasion.
