Karkala;Oct 01: Under the auspices of Catholic Sabha,Karkala regional samiti led by president Maxim D’Mello felicitated Smt.Rehamath, President,Karkala town municipal council at municipal office premises and submitted a memorandum for the development of the Karkala city.
Memorandum’s main points:-
1. Bus service has to be started from Karkala main bus stand to market road, Pervaje, Pathonjikatte, Bunglegudde, Bandimata, Salmara-through main road to market bus stand. Similarly after repairing the road from city bus stand to Karkala taluk Stadium, Mangalapade, and up to Jodukatte, bus service has to be started to city bus stand via Sanur, Bye-pass and Mangalore road.
2. As the Karkala is one of the developing cities, the existing roads, which are lesser in width, should be converted into one-way road and by identifying parking slots in the main areas, zig-zag parking habits of the people should be prohibited.
3. By constructing government accommodations, houses in the town municipal jurisdiction, the same should be distributed to poor and middle class people.
Responding to the memorandum, Smt.Rehamath, president, CMC, said that I shall try my level best for the development of the city with maximum efforts during my tenure in the office. But since I am new, it will take time to understand the things in detail.
