Udupi; Sept 24: Thingale Vikramarjuna Hegde has been unanimously elected as the new district BJP president in the BJP meeting organized by the party stalwarts at BJP Office on September 23, Monday. Earlier to this assignment, he has been served as the chairman of Coastal Development Authority.
After assuming the office, he took the charge from outgoing president Uday Kumar Shetty at BJP office.
Addressing the gathering Hegde after assuming the office said that “my main aim is to put my maximum efforts to rectify our past mistakes and regain the hold in the coastal belt and ensure victory in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
He further said that BJP’s present main task is the ensuing Lok sabha elections. All efforts will be made to regain the past glory in the region by amending many areas of the party. Steps will be taken to strengthen the party from the grass root level, he added
He also assured that Udupi will always remain the fortress of BJP, he informed
Meanwhile Udaya Kumar Shetty, outgoing BJP district president thanked all the people who have supported by all means during his tenure.
Besides, Sunil Kumar MLA has been appointed as the vice president of the BJP, followed by Shyamala Kundar as the State Secretary.
Hegde, Sunil Kumar and Shyamala have been honored on the occasion.
Kota Srinivas Poojary,former Muzrai minister,Lalaji R Mendon, former MLA,Upendra Nayak,ZP President, Suresh Nayak,Ravi Amin,Mattar Ratnakar Hegde,Geetanjali Suvarana,Kutyaru Naveen Shetty and among others were present.
