Sullia, August 27: The government is thinking to extend the corporation board to areca nut growers also, which was formed for the development of rubber and coffee growers, said D.K in charge minister.
He was speaking after inaugurating the panel discussion between scientists and farmers regarding coconut and areca nut agriculture, organised by central gardening research centre and sullia gardening department at KVG hall.
Change in APMC act: To support the areca nut growers, government thinking to change the APMC act, which, helps to control the problem of farmers and government will construct the agriculture commission, he said.
In the presidential address MLA Angara said that the research in the agricultural field and invention of technologies helps the farmers to keep their crop safely. But, modern inventions never help the farmers, hence, government must provide necessity facilities at proper time, he said.
