Padubidri; August 26: In a shocking incident, a man who was in his 40+ and had just joined as a Gardner at UPCL was found murdered in the staff quarters, where he was sharing with other two. Sources said that he might have been murdered by the other two by smashing his face by a rock.

According to the sources a man hailing from Udupi has introduced three men including the deceased to Dennis D’souza; gardening contractor in UPCL.Dennis in turn brought the men to UPCL laborer’s quarter’s colony and referred them to Dolfy D’Souza, a supervisor at UPCL.

But unfortunately Dolfy did not collect the basic information from the three men and had told them to join duty on Monday. He was supposed to prepare their identity cards only after they joined the duty. On Monday when Dolfy saw that the three men didn’t report to duty at 8.30 a.m, he paid a visit to their quarters. On finding the door was locked from outside, he peeped inside and was shocked to see the body of one of the man inside the room.

The Police who visited the spot seized the used plates, liquor bottles and also the rock which was used to kill him. Preliminary investigation suggested that the three must have meals together after which the murder had occurred. Since the other two are absconding the needle of suspicion points out at other two.

Upon inquiring the owner of the grocery shop located nearby he said one of them who had come to the shop to buy rice was speaking in Kannada.

Surprisingly, the man who had introduced the men to Dennis was also unknown to him, the only information known was that he hailed from Udupi.

Hunt is on to trace the person from Udupi as he might lead the Police to the other two suspects.

Four police teams have been formed to investigate the matter
