Nitte Technical Mahavidyalaya celebrates 67th Independence Day in a different way with sand sculptures, pictures

Karkala; August 15:  Nitte, technical Mahavidhyalaya has celebrated 67th Independence Day on August 15, Thursday in the premises of Nitte vidhyalaya with sand sculptures and pictures with great splendor and triumph.

N Vinaya Hegde, President of Nitte educational institute and chancellor of Nitte Vishwavidhyanilaya was the chief guest of the ceremony .After hoisting the flag, Hegde said in his address that as result of unity, struggle and sacrifices of great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and from our region Karnad Sadhashiva Rao, India could get freedom from the clutches of colonial rule, way back in 1947, on the midnight of August 14.  Now it is our duty to protect, save and make the country corruption- free.

He further conveyed the message to the students that one should make himself/herself as a role model for others by cultivating the habit of helping the needy and developing the leadership quality.

Besides, in view of celebrating this year’s independence day ,a memorable event ,the students from Nitte technical Mahavidhyalaya decided to celebrate the day in different way  with sand sculptures, drawings and pictures under the direction of well-known  sand picture artist  Manipal Shreenath and  over 800 engineering students  in co-ordination with teaching and non- teaching staff to highlight the unique qualities of youth’s unity, have engaged in sand sculptures and pictures in out-door stadium of the college admeasuring  11500 sq ft area and drew attractive sculptures and pictures, he added
