Karkala; August 15: Addressing the gathering in the 67th Independence day celebration ceremony held in Karkala Manjunatha Pai memorial hall on August 15, Thursday, Sunil Kumar, MLA from Karkala constituency said in his speech that in view of destabilizing the integrity, sanctity and unity of one of the largest developing democratic countries in the world, some evil forces from within and outside the country are actively working round the clock. For the progress of any nation, youth’s contribution is need of the hour.
Therefore under the present scenario, I appeal all the youths of the country to get up from the slumber and fight against the menace of Naxalism and terrorism in the best interest of unity, integrity and progress of the nation.
Rashmi Shetty, President, Karkala taluk Panchayat after inaugurating the function said her address that each and every citizen of the country is fighting for his/her rights and added that along with that patriotism also should be developed.
On the occasion students who have excelled in their studies have been identified, felicitated and honored with cash prizes.
Chief guests like Nirmala Devi, Karkala tahsildar, Supritha Shetty, Zilla Panchayat member, Udaya Kotian, Manikya, grade 2 tahsildar, Chennappa Moily, Chief Director, taluk panchayat and among others were present.
Ravi Shankar Rao welcomed the gathering, Ganappayya from yuva sena and sports department compered the programme.
