Udipi; Rai launches Laksha Vriksha Abhiyana; Grow more plants to maintain nature’s equilibrium

Udipi; August 06: Ramanatha Rai, minister for forest, ecology and environment and district in-charge has inaugurated Laksha-Vriksha Abhiyana at Chitpadi Ammanni Ramanna Sabha Bhavana organized jointly by Karnataka Forest department, taluk administrative office and udipi taluk panchayat on August 06, Tuesday.



After the inauguration Rai said in his address that not only in our surroundings, state, nation but also in international level as well the subject of environment protection has become a debatable matter.



By planting, growing more and more plants we have to maintain nature’s equilibrium and has to be carried over to future generation too and they too get the benefits from this. In view of protecting environment, we have undertaken a mammoth project of Laksha Vriksha Abhiyana by utilizing entrepreneurs, Sangha and institutions.



Vinaya Kumar Sorake, minister for urban and district in-charge said in his speech that theft, illegal transportation of trees and pilferage of the trees from the forest must be stopped. The people, who have built their house and started living, are facing problems and CRZ rules to be simplified and relaxation like in Goa and Kerala also should be available here.



Activities of the naxals, in naxal affected area should be kept under control, and then only development can be possible in that area. Protection of Nature’s equilibrium should be done by forest and environment department and now a days wild animals are entering into the city due to the absence of forest.


On the occasion agriculturist L C Soans, Richard Rebello and Gururaj Sanil,Reptile specialist have been felicitated.Kudroli Ganesh has conveyed message about environment protection through his magic. Profit sharing of village forest department, compensation for wild animal’s distruction and grant-in-aid for forest cultivation scheme has also been arranged.
