Kundapura; August 03: It has been reported that deep sea fishing boat, which was in construction stage caught fire accidentally at Kundapura Kodi Church road, resulting a huge losses in lakhs.
Ramachandra Shirolkar, from north Kannada district has been in the business of constructing the new boats for the past several years in a shed at the extreme end of Kundapura church road.
It was on August 03, Saturday afternoon at around 3.15 pm, when the workers were busy engaged in the construction of boat in a shed, one of the boats developed a short- circuit resulting thermocol lying side the boat caught fire. Within no time fire engulfed almost all parts of the boat and completely ravaged the entire boat into ashes.
Immediately after the fire broke out, fire brigade personnel have been summoned and brought fire under control. It has roughly been estimated that materials worth Rs 55 lac has been completely destroyed due to accidental fire.
Kundapura police have arrived to the spot and examined the situation and registered a case in this regard.
