Canada law students visit Maravanthe Village Panchayat

Kundapur; July 30: Ali Asnashan and Fathima Jivaji, both law students in Toronto Oscade Hal La School, Canada have paid a visit recently to Maravanthe Village panchayat as a part of their study tour.

As a part of their study tour, they came to ‘Concerned for working children institution’, Kanyan to study practically about the children’s abuse and visited Maravanthe village panchayat and had a discussion with K A Suguna, president and members with regard to measures being followed in this regard.

Under the jurisdiction of village panchayat,children’s education, children’s rights protection, child labour system and action taken against the same, Rights and an opportunity to participate etc have been comprehensively briefed to former president S Janardhana and reviewed the activities of child trafficking protection samithi.Also briefed about  education, facilities and benefits available through child welfare and health centres.

Village Panchayat members like Shreemathi Acharya,Anita,Narasimha Shetty,development officer Harish Kumar Shetty,Panchayatraj material resources person K Nagaraja Karantha,Venkatesh,CWC and Sharada have been taken part in discussion.

Ashalatha Maravanthe, Bharath Nirman taluk co-ordinator, Saroja Shanbhag, Anganwadi staff, Savithri Ganiga and Bharath Nirman volunteers were present on the occasion.
