Leadership Workshop Marks Martyr’s Day
Mangalore,March.25th : Students representing different colleges from the district and outside pledged to take up greater individual role in bringing out a change in the society, during the Insignia 2016, Student Leadership Workshop organised by Centre for Integrated Learning in association with Rotary Club of Mangalore North at Rotary Bal Bhavan at Mannagudda in the city. Personality grooming, social sensitivity and Rights and Responsibilities as the central theme of the day-long event, which marked the commemoration of Martyr’s day.

Inaugurating Insignia 2016, Brijesh Krishnan, Associate Vice President of Infosys stressed on the need for volunteerism and a sense of activism among youth in responding to the genuine needs of the society. Academics and social responsibilities should go hand in hand, he mentioned. He also delivered the keynote address on the theme “Re-Imagining Youth Leadership Focus”.

Presiding over the inaugural ceremony, Dean- Academics of St. Aloysius College and former Rotary President Alwyn D’Sa administered the pledge which re-enforced the dedication of students towards creating a better society.

Various aspects of Leadership, value inculcation and social sensitivity were discussed through group dynamics and discussions facilitated by eminent panel of resource persons who included Prof. Radhakrishna, former Professor of MGM College, Udupi and HRD Master Trainer and convener of Abhiyanam Dr. Shikaripura Krishnamurthy who took the participants through different experiences to drive home the points.

Secretary of Rotary Club of Mangalore North Nayan Suvarna and Executive Director of Centre for Integrated Learning Sachitha Nandagopal among others were present on the occasion.
