Mangalore,Jan.05: The 6th Annual Day celebrations were held on World Braille Day(Birth Anniversary of Mr. Louis Braille) at Mijar govind Pai Memrial Hall, Canara High School, Urva, Mangalore.
Dr. Rajeshwari Devi H. R., District Surgeon & Superintendent, Wenlock Hospital, Mangalore presided over the function and Sri K. Narendranath Kamath, Deputy General Manager, Syndicate Bank, Regional Office, Mangalore was the Chief Guest.
The stage programme commenced with the Welcome Dance by the Students of the School. Mr. Santhoshkumar, Teacher welcomed the gathering while Ms. Renuka Devi read the profiles of the Guests. Principal, Mr. Calistus D’sa read the Annual Report. Sri Narendranath Kamath, while addressing the gathering stressed upon the reservation facilities available for the Visually Impaired in Banking Sector and wished all the Students the very Best. Three Best students for the Year 2014-15 were honoured on the occasion. Dr. Rajeshwari Devi while addressing the gathering dealt in detail the causes of blindness and the ways to prevent them. Smt. Divya Bhat proposed the vote of Thanks.
There after the Students of the School presented variety entertainment / cultural programme. The entire event was compeared by Ms. Greesha D. G.
Trustees of Seva Bharathi, Trustees of Roman & Catherine Lobo Charity Home, Parents and a large gathering was present.
