Shop gutted in fire, complaint filed against two

Puttur, December 3: A shop located near Darandakukku junction under Bannur gram panchayat limits in the taluk was completely gutted in fire on the night of Wednesday, December 2nd.

Huge crowd gathered at the spot soon after the news spread. A tense situation had prevailed at the spot. Later the police resorted to mild lathi charge to disperse the crowd.

The shop belongs to Vishwanatha Gowda, son of Devappa Gowda, resident of Darandakukku.

As usual, after the days business, he closed the shop at night and went home. It is said, the incident took place in the night after he left for home.

The fire tenders rushed at the spot and subsided the fire. But by then all the items in the shop were completely gutted in fire.

ASP Rishyant,Police Inspector Mahesh Prasad, SI Abdul Khader, and staffs visited the spot and inspected.

In connection to the fire incident, the shop owner Vishwanatha Gowda has filed a complaint in the local police station in which he has suspected the involvement of two persons. He has also alleged that two days ago, the two had threatened him of life.

Many suspicions have aroused over the incident and the locals have demanded for the proper investigation into the incident.
