Mangaluru, December 1: Colorado University in America has reportedly returned 2 million dollars given to it by the Coca-Cola Company for research. The reason for this was that through the ‘Global Energy Balance Network’ association, the Coca-Cola had been presenting a research stating that there are no links between the sugar mixed drinks and obesity.
On learning this, the Colorado University which adopts stringent criteria in education / research has rejected this contribution. The biggest health issue people in America face is obesity. The government’s research has revealed that obesity is linked to high sugar consumption. Hence for the reason that this will effect profit of the Coca-Cola Company, it had joined with the above mentioned organization and presented seminars and research essays stating that the people are developing obesity as they do not perform exercise and had tried to make it popular.
Coca-Cola has handed over the funds rejected by the Colorado University to another organization that strives to educate the economically poor children. This is like Coca-Cola’s corporate social responsibility fund.
Before ignoring this fact thinking that what connection do we have to do with this matter, one should think that many people sip in this drink and also pose for selfie along with this drink. But we should judge what is good and bad for health.
