Police arrest two men at airport who were absconding abroad

Mangaluru, December 1: Police arrested Muneer BM (26) from Calicut airport on Monday, November 30th, who was accused in a case of assault on Shafi and had threatened him of his life five years ago.

Muneer is from Ajjavara in Sullia. After committing the crime on April 14th, the accused had absconded abroad.

Another accused in the case, Sharif P M from Ajjavara had been arrested on October 10th at Cochin international airport, informed the Dakshina Kannada district Superintendent of Police Dr SD Sharanappa, in a press meet held at his office on Monday evening, November 30th.

In relation to the case, charge sheet was filed against 9 persons. Among them Sahrif and Muneer had absconded abroad. A look out notice was issued against them and accordingly while they were returning to their native, they were arrested.

Incident details: On April 14th, a person named Shafi was moving from his home towards Ivarnadu

on a bike along with K H Naushir. On their way, fifteen people followed them on four bikes and an Alto car and dashed to their bike at Bengamale and assaulted them with lethal weapons and had threatened them of their life.
