Puttur, November 26: A young couple from different communities, who were noticed chatting on Wednesday, November 25th for a long while in a computer centre were beaten up reportedly by some persons said to be belonging to Hindu association.
It is said, some people who noticed a youth studying in a college in the town chatting for a long while with a female student of Mohammed Sharif computer centre conveyed the information to the activists. The group of persons who arrived at the spot beat up the duo, and the police who rushed at the spot on receiving information, had taken them to the police station.
As per the eyewitnesses, it is learnt that on receiving information from the police, the youth’s father arrived at the police station and had advised the son. The police after warning the youth and the girl sent them, it is said.
It is said that no complaints were registered in police station about this incident.
