Mangaluru, November 24: Miscreants pelted stones at a building belonging to Koragajja Seva Samiti near TC Road, Thokkottu here on the night of Monday November 23rd and damaged the window panes.
Two miscreants came by bike and pelted stones at the Koragajja Seva Samiti building located near TC Road and escaped from the spot.
People began gathering at the spot after the news spread. Tense atmosphere had prevailed in the vicinity for some time. Ullal police rushed to the spot. They urged the people to remain calm.
ACP Kalyan Shetty, Ullal inspector Savitra Tej and other higher officials visited the spot.
Meanwhile, leaders of both Hindu and Muslim communities arrived at the spot. They held discussions and came to a conclusion that as peace is being disrupted in recent days in Ullal and Thokkottu by some miscreants, they would not allow this incident to escalate and increase the miscreants’ activities. Hence they decided not to file any complaint.
Instead, local leaders of the Hindu community Chandrahas Ullal, Bharat, Bhagawandas, and others along with leaders of the Muslim community, including Ullal city municipal member Farooq U H offered prayers together at Koragajja Seva Samiti building. They took a pledge that the culprits be punished soon and prayed to the god to give good sense to those indulging in anti-social activities. They also prayed for the prevalence of peace and harmony among the people.
