Bantwal, November 18: Parents of Prashant Poojary from Moodbidri, who was murdered few weeks ago by miscreants in Moodbidri town; extended assistance to the family of Harish Poojary residing at Helegetu, Navoor in the taluk, who was murdered last week.
On Monday evening, parents of Prashant Poojary, Anand Poojary and Yashoda, visited the house of Harish. They also handed over one lakh rupees to Harish’s family.
Speaking to media representatives, Yashoda said like her own family, Harish’s family was in sorrow after losing their only son. She urged the police to arrest the killers of Harish immediately and to take preventive measures to avoid recurrence of such murders in future. Expressing her opinion, she said that it would be better to hand over both these cases to CBI.
On the same occasion, out of ten lakh rupees promised by Hindu outfits, Rs three lakh rupees was handed over to the Harish’s family. BJP leaders, Rajesh Naik Ulipadyguthu, Udaykumar Rao, and municipal Councillor, Govind Prabhu, handed over cheques of rupees one lakh each. BJP district vice president, Devadas Shetty, said that within next two days, the remaining amount would be given to the family. Prakash Anchan, president of Durga Friends Club, Karenki, handed over Rs 30,000 to the family on behalf of the club.
During the visit VHP leader Jagadish Shenava, BJP block committee president G Anand, and ZP vice president Satish Kumpala, were present among others.
