Gas leakage from parked tanker spreads panic among people in Hosangady.

Manjeshwar, November 18: Gas leaked from a tanker parked in Hosangady check-post in Manjeshwar causing panic among the people in the area for over one and a half hours on the night of Tuesday, November 17th.

The fire extinguishers from Uppala rushed at the spot immediately after receiving the information and undertook operations to stop the gas leakage.

Immediately after receiving information about gas leakage, vehicular movement was stopped on the National Highway. The power supply was also cut-off. Warning was issued in the area not to lit fire.

It is said, the tanker was transporting gas from Mangaluru to Malappuram in Kerala. As the news of gas leakage spread in the area, the locals panicked. This tanker was parked for checking procedure in the check-post. Over hundred goods transporting vehicles and tankers were parked in the spot and a tense atmosphere prevailed in the area.

All expressed a sigh of relief after the gas leakage was stopped.
