Mangaluru, November 18: A man named Ashwin Pai was robbed of his gold ornament by two persons who offered him to drop him to his native. In relation to this case, Ullal police have arrested one accused and have confiscated a car and gold ornament belonging to Pai from the possession of the accused.
The arrested man is identified as Pajju alias Moideen Faizal from Kunjattur Padavu, Manjeshwar. The police have launched a search to nab the other accused, British Ajmal.
On the ate night on November 6th, while Ashwin Pai from Badiyadka was waiting for a bus, two persons, Faizal and Ajmal, who were travelling by a car, stopped their vehicle and offered a drop to Pai, telling him that they too are going towards Kerala. When the car reached Beeri, the car was deviated towards Madoor. The two men in car, snatched away a gold chain from the neck of Ashwin Pai, pushed him out of the car and sped away.
The Ullal police registered a case and began investigations.
Based on reliable information about the thieves, the police arrested one of the accused from near Talapady and seized a car and gold chain.
Ullal police inspector, Pavitra Teja, and SI Bharati, crime sub-inspector Rajendra, led a team of police under the guidance of senior officials of the department based on information gathered by Police Commissioner, S Murugan.
