Engg Student Varsha Alva death case: Court orders to file criminal cases against two fellow students.

Puttur, November 14: In relation to the death case of Varsha Alva (19), resident of Konchady here, a student of Private College in Puttur; the Puttur court has ordered to register a criminal case against two of her fellow students.

The Mangaluru police had registered a case that on September 28th -2014, Varsha Alva had expired after falling under a moving train near Nehru Nagar in Puttur.  But as Varsha’s father Dayanand Alva an ex-army man, was not satisfied with the police investigations; had lodged a private case in Puttur court.

Chief Judicial Magistrate C K Basavaraj passed orderers to file criminal cases against Vivekananada Engineering College student Rachana and BCom student Suekshraj. Varsha Alva was studying in second year engineering course. Accused Rachana and others were classmates, and stayed in hostel.

There were some difference of opinion between Rachana and Varsha Alva. Varsha had told her parents about it. On September 28th-2014, Rachana and some other girl students had made Varsha to believe that they would give birthday party and had taken Varsha near Nehru Nagar railway track.

Dayanand Alva had alleged that, in the pretext of clicking the photos there, Varsha was pushed on the railway track and murdered. Later, with the help of Suekshraj, the dead body of Varsha was carried to other place. On this background, magistrate ordered to register a case against the students under sections 302, 379, and 201 read with section 34 of IPC.
