Mangalore, July 08: Sheldon Crasta, from Bendore would be the new president of ICYM (Indian catholic youth movement).
He was unanimously elected in the election, which was held during the 66th annual meeting of ICYM at Roasario Church hall on July 7.
J R Lobo, MLA from Mangalore south, who was the chief guest and has been felicitated during the occasion said in his chief guest speech that youngsters should come forward through such forums and get into the government and political fields and wished good luck to the new ICYM team.
Denis Moras Prabhu, Vicar general of Mangalore diocese Msgr has presided over the programme, Fr.J B Crasta, Parish priest of Rosario Church, Fr Ronal D’Souza, director ICYM were the guest of honor.
During felicitation programme for the ICYM units, that had rendered good service, Balkunje ICYM unit was chosen as the best followed by Moodbidri and Paladdka units stood second and third place respectively.
