Exporters’ Meet Organized jointly by Karnataka Bank and Federation of Indian Export Organisations at Rajkot.

KBL_EXPORTERS'_MEET

Mangalore / Rajkot : Exporters’ Meet was organized jointly by Karnataka Bank Ltd and Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) on 28.06.2013 at Rajkot.  The meeting was organized to promote export business in Gujarat, especially in and around Rajkot. The programme was inaugurated by Shri. Amit Goyal, Vice President (FIEO) and Regional Chairman – WR (FIEO) and presided by Dr. Meera Aranha, General Manager of the Bank.

Shri.Amit Goyal, Vice President (FIEO) and Regional Chairman – WR (FIEO), welcomed the guests and Shri. Manohar V. N, Deputy General Manager of Karnataka Bank gave a brief note on the Bank and the infrastructure available for effective customer service.

Shri. V. Padmanabhan, Commissioner Customs and Excise informed about the issues related to Customs Department and the measures undertaken by Customs to promote exports.

Dr. Meera Aranha, General Manager of the Bank in her presidential remarks informed that the Bank treats export credit as National Priority and the Bank is in a position to provide PCFC funds to all eligible exporters. She also informed that our Bank has designated Ahmedabad – Navarangpura branch as forex designated branch immediately after the Exporters’ Meet at Ahmedabad during last year. Going by the trend, the Bank will take decision regarding designating Rajot Bank as forex designated branch after collecting relevant inputs from the Branch and Regional Office.

Shri.Srinivas S Dandapur, Senior Manager, Forex Support Group of Karnataka Bank presented about the forex infrastructure of Karnataka Bank and the forex products available to the exporters. He informed that Karnataka Bank is in the forex business for last 3 decades and the Bank has all necessary forex infrastructure to deliver hassle free service to forex customers.

Mr. Mihir Shah, Expert Faculty in International Trade in his session in “How to tap untapped markets” explained about the incentives available from the Government for exports to specific countries and also about the untapped potential of various countries.

During the open house session, various issues related to banking, government support to exporters were discussed.

Shri. Nagaraja Rao.B, Deputy General Manager and Regional Head of Mumbai region stressed about the commitment of the Bank towards good customer service.

Shri. Khalid Khan, Managing Committee Member of FIEO proposed vote of thanks.More than 150 exporters in and around Rajkot participated in the exporters’ meet.
