Town Hall after renovation to be inaugurated on Nov 14th: Mayor Jacintha Vijay Alfred

Mangaluru, November 12: The renovated Town Hall in Mangaluru will be inaugurated on Saturday November 14th, at 11 am, announced Mangaluru City Corporation mayor Jacintha Vijay Alfred in a press meet held at the MCC office here on Wednesday November 11th.

The renovated Town Hall will be inaugurated on November 14th.  Still some works are pending and 10 more days will be required to complete the work. District in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai and urban development minister Vinay Kumar Sorake will be attending the inaugural ceremony. Town Hall will be open for public from December onwards. The rent will be revised and depending on the electricity bill, charges will be applied. Mangaluru City Corporation will look after the maintenance of the Town Hall, he said.

The cost of the renovation has come upto Rs 458.05 lakhs. Acoustical equipment, false ceiling, lights, stage, seats, air conditioner, generator and other amenities have been installed. Based on the artistes’ feedbacks, we have installed teakwood flooring for the stage, sophisticated lights, various facilities in the green room for the artistes, LEDs, signboard, garden outside the Town Hall and many other facilities, she said.

The Mayor said, on November 14th, a cultural programme will be organized in which school children will participate and a drama will be performed by various artistes.

Deputy mayor Purushotham Chitrapura, Former Mayor Shashidhar Hegde, Former Mayor Mahabala Maarla, Harinath, were present among others.
