State-wide protest called tomorrow: District administration takes precautionary measures, liquor sale banned.

Mangaluru, November 12: A high level meeting was chaired by DC AB Ibrahim on Wednesday to make arrangements to maintain law and order on November 13th in the wake of protest called by Hindu organisations and bandh rumours.

DC Ibrahim said, no public meetings and gatherings will be held on November 13th. The permission that has been granted for the meetings will be withdrawn. Liquor sale is completely banned on that day and all bars and wine shops will remain closed. Additional security will be provided to sensitive areas, he said.

Government employees leave cancelled:

All the government officers and staffs ought to report to duty without fail. The leaves approved for that day stand cancelled. The DC also asked the officers to cancel the leaves of the government employees who have applied for leave on that day and ask them to attend the duty.

All the government vehicles must be kept ready. The fire extinguishers as well as the ambulance must also be kept prepared. All the thasildars in taluk centres have been directed to make preparations to maintain law and order, he said.

In the meeting, Police commissioner S Murugan, superintendent of police Dr S D Sharanappa, ADC Kumar, DCP Shantharaju, MCC commissioner Dr Gopalakrishna and others were present.
