Mangaluru, November 10: Following the death of VHP leader in a violence that erupted during the protest in Madikeri against the celebration of Tipu Jayanti, the BJP and the Hindu associations have given a bundh call in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kodagu districts on Wednesday.

In opposition to the Tipu Jayanti, some organizations had given bundh call in Kodagu district. In addition, the BJP had also staged a state wide protest. During the bundh, violence erupted in Madikeri town, the district capital of Kodagu district. In this incident, local VHP leader Kuttappa had lost life.

In addition, violence was witnessed in Kulburgi, Tumkur, Chickamagaluru and various other places in Karnataka. In this wake, the BJP has given bundh call on Wednesday in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kodagu districts.

The state government is celebrating Tippu Jayanti to appease the minorities. Hence for the violence and death, the government – mainly the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is directly responsible, alleged the BJP leaders.
